There are many types of beach in Bali, from those with big rocks created by corals or lava to those covered wholly with white or black sand. So depending what you look to do at the beach, there are a number of beaches for you to choose from. Travelers come to Bali for its long stretches of white sand beach, crystal clear sea for swimming, strong waves for surfing and volcanic black sands for sunbathing. But However, I had my own selection of 10 best beaches in Bali.
1. Balangan beach.
Located across from the greens of Uluwatu. To get there you will pass local villages with cattle grazing the fields with local people going about their daily chores. This is a small and quiet beach, best for those looking for a secret hideaway. The ocean currents are strong and the waves high, therefore not recommended for swimming. When It is low tide, it would be a perfect beach for strolling along enjoying the sun while the waves lap on your feet.

2. Padang Padang
Located close to the Uluwatu temple, this beautiful beach is surrounded by big rocks and overgrown plants and monkeys. Not quite a secret beach anymore but still slightly ‘hidden’ due to its far-flung location, Dreamland, Balangan’s ‘next door neighbour’, remains a mention on our list. Following the development of the Pecatu Graha and ‘New Kuta’ expansions, much has changed over the recent years. Still a favourite among local and international visitors, Dreamland also remains a favourite surf break. With the concrete and other developments aside, the cliffs, sand and blue still hark back to its pristine days when its moniker came to being.
